Gabor D. Kelen, M.D.


Gabor D. Kelen, M.D., is the current and founding director of PACER. He was also the primary investigator on the Medical Surge Capacity Metrics project and on the Creation of a Society for Disaster Health project.

His other research interests include: HIV epidemiology, testing and risk to health care provider; health care services; and disaster response.

Dr. Kelen is also director of The Johns Hopkins Office of Critical Event Preparedness and Response (CEPAR), which is responsible for a coordinated response to disasters and other critical events across the Johns Hopkins Enterprise.

He is also professor and director of the Johns Hopkins Department of Emergency Medicine.
